You have to ask yourself: “What is wrong with these people?” when you see the excitement of the left mainstream media and their bloggers around the country over the Supreme Court’s decision in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld.

Here we have the SCOTUS injecting itself into a case that had previously been decided by a Federal Circuit Court in favor of the President’s decision to use his war powers to try enemy combatants in military tribunals. The President's decisions was made in order to avoid having a circus trial like the one for 20th hijacker Zaccharias Moussoui’s or having to face the unsavory prospect of divulging classified information in court in order to make their case against a terrorist defendant. We already have the New York Times for divulging secrets, don’t we? In essence the Court is ruling in favor of the terrorists and against the President! This is where I struggle to understand what is going on in my country.

The Court has now in effect decided that terrorists captured on the battlefield should receive the same rights to trial, representation, evidence, etc. that a common crook in America would get. How can any Judge or Justice make such a stretch as to equate the two different people? Say what you will about the murderer, rapist, or burglar in America, it is not their intention to destroy the entire country or place it under their own rule.

Of course the five liberal justices voted with Hamdan, allegedly Osama bin Laden’s driver, against the administration of George W. Bush, the people’s elected leader. How much longer can we as a country survive with weaklings and wimps? These people simply cannot comprehend that these are not nice people and they want us all dead. Is George W. Bush making that up?

Doesn’t the Constitution apply to the Court anymore? Congress in 2005 passed a law that prohibited the Court (“any judge or justice”) from ruling on the President’s determination of the handling of enemy combatants. The court ignored that order despite the Constitution and overrode the legislative branch. Then they ignored the Executive Branch’s enumerated Constitutional power in directing wars and foreign policy. Are we now going to have all foreign policy decisions approved or disapproved by nine justices with no competence in these matters? God help us if we do. And finally (though not related to ignoring the Constitution any longer but confirming they are in fact ignorant) the liberal justices applied the Geneva Conventions to the terrorists in a manner that required them to totally ignore the requirements within the document that would preclude the Conventions from being applied to them. Liberals certainly can be creative I'll give them that.

By reading the papers and watching the news in this country, with few exceptions, we are still inundated with discussions three years into the war of why we went to Iraq, how we’ve prosecuted the war, how many Americans have died, etc. All of this nonsense simply ignores the threat and we move along as if there was nothing to worry about. I mean now we hear theories that the government using controlled demolitions brought down the World Trade Center – not any terrorists. Of course this was done so we could go to Iraq and remove Sadaam because he tried to kill Bush’s father, or we could take the oil, or we could make Halibuton rich, or blah blah blah. ARRRRRGH!

The lack of seriousness in half of the country’s population is breathtaking. It is impossible to effectively fight a war like this one with the state of the nation as it is. Somewhere along the way half of our country has lost the ability to believe in the existence of evil as well as the nerve to defend themselves against it. We have become a nation in which 50% of us are wimps and wusses.

Because of that, the 50% that are not wimps try to fight a war in a manner that is satisfactory to the other half and they have been ineffective in doing so. There is no way the full power of the United States military could ever be brought to bear against our enemies lest the same groups complaining about American deaths would be crying about collateral damage, civilian deaths, etc. The wimps in SCOTUS would rather afford captured terrorists better legal protection than we give to our own military prisoners like those Marines accused of atrocities in Iraq, who spend most of their days shackled in their cells.

We give Islamofacists Korans, prayer rugs, ethnic meals, we point them towards Mecca five times a day, and we prosecute our soldiers who were only enjoying themselves ridiculing these animals who would kill us. I think what they did was funny. Am I the only one? We award Pulitzer prizes to newspaper reporters who expose our national security programs that help us locate and kill these dirtbags while deriding the President who is working to keep us alive. Why do we let them get away with that? Why don't we hunt down and prosecute those in the government who betray us simply because they oppose the elected President?

We continually offer carrots to rogue nations like North Korea and Iran who threaten us daily with nuclear destruction. We ignore discoveries of WMDs in Iraq, evidence of an Iraq-Al Qaeda link, mass graves, etc. because after all we’re civilized people and its not right for us to use our might to free people and stand for liberty when everything bad that happens in the world is our fault.

I am sick and tired of people who cannot understand why we need a missile defense shield and want us to stop building one. They didn't want Pershing missilies deployed in Europe during the Cold War to protect Europeans from the Soviets because it might anger the USSR. These are the same people who don’t want us taking out the nutcases with nukes and would I guess, rather stand by until Chicago (Washington DC, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, fill in the blank) is a smoldering glow-in-the-dark crater. Might make someone mad.

I don’t understand this scardey-cat approach to foreign policy. Have we become so soft that we can be bullied? Even conservatives are afraid of exerting power because they will be called “imperialists”, “neocons”, “warmongers”, etc., I find this to be most disappointing. It is time to teach these cretins that they should let a sleeping dog lie. Why does the majority cower to the minority? No matter what Bush does the New York Times and the like will hammer him so why not smash someone in the mouth for challenging us? We used to teach our sons to stand up for themselves. Have we stopped doing that? Do they just let bullies hit them nowadays?

Why not call up our buddies like North Korea’s Kim Jong Il and Iran’s Armenijhad and let them know in no uncertain terms that we understand they have a few nukes or they may have them shortly but we have thousands of nukes and we're itching to use them. Just want to let you know that when you launch one at us, or at anyone else for that matter, your countries will be instantaneously turned to toast while our defense shield knocks your missile out of the sky. So how do you like them apples?

As the war in Iraq goes on I am trying to figure out just what the reason was for Libya to have given up its WMD programs. Was Muammar Qadhafi simply too dumb to realize that he could have gotten anything he wanted from us simply by threatening us? Our liberal friends would never have allowed us to do anything to him. After Iraq it will be a wonder if we ever try to protect ourselves again or free any people ruled by murderous dictators. Might make someone mad you know.

How in the world can our government even consider that we would discuss with Mexico any plans to build a fence on our border? When did the will in this country become so weak that we need permission to protect ourselves? Are we going to ask burglars if it’s OK to install deadbolt locks and security screen doors on our homes too? Is it just me who feels like my country is run by pansies when I hear stuff like that?

I guess if American history were properly taught in this country’s public schools more Americans would understand where we came from, what we stand for, and why we fight to protect it. They've learned there is no reason for us to exist anymore since we've done so much wrong, that we have no right to defend ourselves because we're evil. More high school students can tell you George Washington owned slaves than can tell you about his brilliance or his mistakes in the prosecution of the Revolutionary War. They think only George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld make miscalculations in war. Half the time students don’t even learn our reasons for participating in World Wars I and II. However they do know that we interned those nice Japanese people after Pearl Harbor and we murdered hundred of thousands of them with the A-bomb. They know we bombed innocent civilians in Berlin, you know - those nice German people who elected Adolph Hitler to run their country and allowed him to commit genocide. Gosh if only we’d had smart bombs to limit the collateral damage on those wonderful people then. We're just so rotten! They’ve learned their ancestors were just savages and slave owners who tried to rule the world then and still try today.

In today's world we would court martial the pilots of the Enola Gay (for all you public school students that is the plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima) in World War II. Our children don’t know about the greatness of America and what makes her so. They certainly don’t understand how superior our way of life and our standard of living is to any in the world because liberal teachers indoctrinate our children in multiculturalism and moral equivalence. They look to blame America for all of the world’s ills. Parents who disagree with that statement either haven’t looked at their children’s textbooks lately or they simply failed to pay attention in their own history classes when they were young. Or maybe because liberals would rather abort children then have them they never see a textbook because they have no kids. Go to the National Edcuation Association website and see how little concern they have with teaching your kids anything that can help them grow as adults and as Americans. Theirs is a political agenda and if you don't see that you are blind.

I guess if they weren’t so busy teaching our boys that being manly was bad we might have a few more of them around these days. The education establishment is run by feminsit women and it has tried to stifle male behaviors because they will not recognize the difference between men and women and don't understand it. By inventing A.D.D. and other assorted afflictions while filling any rambunctious boys with drugs like Ritalin, they ignore reality - something liberals excel at.

We have conflict resolution, gay sensitivity training, gender acceptance training, sex education and all the other nonsense liberals can throw at our kids. You know the drill: all men are rapists and they pressure women into sex, even marital sex can be considered rape, etc. Violence is bad no matter what - there is never a reason to fight. You should never hurt anyone’s feeling. My personal favorite: War is not the answer. Well in reality that depends on the question, doesn't it? If the only question is are they going to kill us or are we going to kill them first – war is the answer. We are so politically correct nowadays that no one wants to offend anyone anymore and it shows in our foreign policy. We would allow nutcases around the world to gain weapons of mass destruction that give them the ability to kill us all rather than offend them or any other nation by destroying their ability to do so. After all we have to be liked don’t we? Is that still true even if they’d like us a lot more if we were dead?

I keep hearing that liberals love their country, they love their God, and they believe in all that America stands for. I don’t see it in anything their leaders do or say nor in anything I read from their side. If that were the case, in this day and age they would back our President wholeheartedly and invest heavily in defense and border security – but they don’t. They do nothing to defend and protect America. All they do is stand in the way and impede any progress. And I thought they called themselves progressives. Progressive must be Latin for cowardly.

Liberals are always saying that dissent is the most patriotic thing they can do but I don’t think dissent means tearing down everything your nation does and blaming it for all the ills in the world. It is time for liberals to stand up with conservatives, bow their backs, steel their wills, and smash those who would take away what we have, what our forefathers fought for, and what we leave to our children. You can disagree with American policies but you must always back her in her missions. It is time to grow some hair America. If you can't see that I have to wonder what's wrong with you?
